Ceramic Aroma Lamp Workshop

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

In this workshop, participants create their own ceramic aroma lamp designed to bring light, scent, and a warm atmosphere into the home. What you’ll experience: 🕯️🏺 - Shape & Form: The process begins with forming the basic shape of the lamp. - Carve & Perforate: Participants then cut and perforate the surface according to their own design, creating an original structure through which the light of a tea candle can shine. - Decorate & Color: The surface can be decorated with underglaze colours, patterns, drawings, or left in the natural colour of the clay. Each participant creates a unique object reflecting her own personal style. 🎁 What You Take Home: - Your Custom Ceramic Aroma Lamp: A finished, functional piece designed by you to diffuse essential oils and cast a warm glow in your space. 🏠✨ Level: Suitable for complete beginners Included: All materials, tools, glazing and firing are included. You can pick up your finished work approximately two weeks after the course (we will let you know). Dress code: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little clay on. Aprons are provided. About the Host: 🌸 Johana Hnízdilová is a ceramic artist and lecturer based in Prague. She studied ceramics in Prague and further developed her practice during study stays in Canada, and South Korea. She enjoys travelling, discovering different cultures, and observing how relationships to craft, material, and everyday objects change across different environments. These experiences naturally influence both her artistic practice and the way she approaches teaching. 🏺🕯️For Prague Connect Women, Johana offers three seasonal winter ceramic workshops focused on creating personal objects that help shape the atmosphere and comfort of home. Each workshop lasts 2.5 hours. During the session, participants create their own original ceramic piece and are guided through the entire process, from the first idea to the final form. 🏠✨ 🌿 A shared theme of all three workshops is slowing down and reconnecting with hands-on making. Working with clay offers a chance to step away from the constant flow of information, put aside digital devices, focus on material, and enjoy a calm and creative moment. The workshops are designed not only around making an object, but also around rest, concentration, and the pleasure of creating something by hand. 🌿
