Sculptural Candle Holder Workshop
Transform everyday clay into a glowing piece of art! 🕯️✨
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
A candle holder does not have to be only a functional object. In this workshop, it becomes a small original sculpture crafted by your hands. 🗿🎨 Here is what you’ll experience: - Explore Form & Structure: Experiment with geometric shapes, specific motifs, or completely organic, abstract forms. 📐🌿 - Decorate & Finish: Style the surface with vibrant underglaze colors, intricate drawings, patterns, or keep it minimalist to let the natural clay textures shine. 🕯️ - Experiment Freely: Enjoy a creative space designed for play, trial, and artistic discovery. 🎁 What You Take Home: Your Unique Sculptural Candle Holder: A functional, ambient piece designed to cast cozy light while standing alone as a striking piece of interior decor. 🏠✨ Level: Suitable for complete beginners Included: All materials, tools, glazing and firing are included. You can pick up your finished work approximately two weeks after the course (we will let you know). Dress code: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little clay on. Aprons are provided. About the Host: 🌸 Johana Hnízdilová is a ceramic artist and lecturer based in Prague. She studied ceramics in Prague and further developed her practice during study stays in Canada, and South Korea. She enjoys travelling, discovering different cultures, and observing how relationships to craft, material, and everyday objects change across different environments. These experiences naturally influence both her artistic practice and the way she approaches teaching. 🏺🕯️For Prague Connect Women, Johana offers three seasonal winter ceramic workshops focused on creating personal objects that help shape the atmosphere and comfort of home. Each workshop lasts 2.5 hours. During the session, participants create their own original ceramic piece and are guided through the entire process, from the first idea to the final form. 🏠✨ 🌿 A shared theme of all three workshops is slowing down and reconnecting with hands-on making. Working with clay offers a chance to step away from the constant flow of information, put aside digital devices, focus on material, and enjoy a calm and creative moment. The workshops are designed not only around making an object, but also around rest, concentration, and the pleasure of creating something by hand. 🌿
