Winter Tea Ceramic Mug Workshop
Craft your ultimate winter comfort mug! ☕❄️
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop is dedicated to creating a personal mug for hot tea and long winter evenings. 🫖✨ For the session, Johana prepares evenly rolled clay slabs, which participants use to build their own mug by hand. They can experiment with the size, proportions, handle, and overall character of the piece. Here is what you’ll experience: - Hand-Building with Slabs: Work with evenly rolled clay slabs to construct your mug from scratch. - Shape & Customization: Play with size, proportions, handle designs, and the overall character of your mug. 🫖 - Decorate & Personalize: Express yourself using vibrant underglaze colors, drawings, patterns, or abstract motifs. 🎨 🎁 What You Take Home: Your Handmade Ceramic Mug: A completely unique, hand-built cup made to elevate your daily winter tea rituals and bring warmth to cozy evenings at home. 🏠🧡 Level: Suitable for complete beginners Included: All materials, tools, glazing and firing are included. You can pick up your finished work approximately two weeks after the course (we will let you know). Dress code: Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little clay on. Aprons are provided. About the Host: 🌸 Johana Hnízdilová is a ceramic artist and lecturer based in Prague. She studied ceramics in Prague and further developed her practice during study stays in Canada, and South Korea. She enjoys travelling, discovering different cultures, and observing how relationships to craft, material, and everyday objects change across different environments. These experiences naturally influence both her artistic practice and the way she approaches teaching. 🏺🕯️For Prague Connect Women, Johana offers three seasonal winter ceramic workshops focused on creating personal objects that help shape the atmosphere and comfort of home. Each workshop lasts 2.5 hours. During the session, participants create their own original ceramic piece and are guided through the entire process, from the first idea to the final form. 🏠✨ 🌿 A shared theme of all three workshops is slowing down and reconnecting with hands-on making. Working with clay offers a chance to step away from the constant flow of information, put aside digital devices, focus on material, and enjoy a calm and creative moment. The workshops are designed not only around making an object, but also around rest, concentration, and the pleasure of creating something by hand. 🌿
